What Happens To Movie Sets After A Movie Wraps

After production on a major movie, what happens to the big set pieces? As every thing that can be displantled is packed away, many structures which were made on location are usually just left there to rot.
What happens then? Nature begins to reclaim the land and the elements begin to wear away what is left.
Check out some of these movie sets that have been abandoned. Without the lights, camera, and action, they just look like dilapidated buildings.
1. Batman (1989).
