This Little Known Serial Killer is One Of The Worst In British History
Certain serial killers were so notorious that their names have lived even years after their death. When we think of British history, perhaps one of the most notorious killers that comes to mind is Jack the Ripper. Although his mystery and methods are gruesomely intriguing, there’s another serial killer who was making her mark around the same time: Her name was Amelia Dyer.
Dyer is one of those individuals you could easily describe as evil incarnate. From the 1860s until her death in 1896, it’s estimated that Dyer was single-handedly responsible for the deaths of at least 400 infants.
1. Dyer was notorious for taking advantage of single, unwed, and poor mothers. She would convince them to let her adopt the child for a fee. She would promise to give the child a better life. Instead, Dyer would strangle the children with dressmaking tape. She would then dump their bodies in the River Thames.
